The picture of the RESURRECTED and GLORIFIED Jesus continues, and His FOCUS remains upon what IS COMING in Revelation’s prophecy concerning JUDGMENTS.  However, when we consider the STARS in His RIGHT HAND, we find a measure of encouragement and comfort which is GIVEN to OVERCOMERS in the SEVEN CHURCHES.

Revelation 1:16--“And He had in His RIGHT HAND seven stars:  and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword:  and His countenance was as the sun shines in his strength.”

We find THREE concepts about Jesus in one verse, but in this note, we’ll remain focused upon Jesus’ RIGHT HAND.

Throughout scripture, the RIGHT HAND shows AUTHORITY, and WITH THAT AUTHORITY is POWER, plus the RIGHT to RULE and TO JUDGE.  The RIGHT HAND pictures STRENGTH. Also, with the RIGHT HAND, a BLESSING is given.

In Genesis 48:14 and Genesis 48:20, we see the RIGHT HAND used to BESTOW a BLESSING.

“And Israel (who is Jacob with his new name--given to him by God) stretched out his RIGHT HAND, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the YOUNGER...” (usually the FIRSTBORN SON received his father’s blessing--so there’s something PROPHETIC going on, which we’ll explore in a future note about the sealing of the 144,000 from the 12 TRIBES in Revelation 7. Remember the Holy Spirit has a special reason for EVERY LITTLE DETAIL presented in the Bible!  And we must be students who DIG DEEP ENOUGH to discover the treasure.)--the verse in Genesis continues “…and his (Israel’s) LEFT HAND upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly (knowingly); for Manasseh was the firstborn…VERSE 20--“And he (Israel) BLESSED them that day.”

Thus the YOUNGER, Ephraim, GOT the blessing of the RIGHT HAND, while the FIRSTBORN, Manasseh, DID NOT GET the blessing that should have been his as the FIRSTBORN SON.  (However, Manasseh DID get the secondary blessing which was usually given to the YOUNGER SON, through Israel's LEFT HAND.)
Here’s another scripture which shows the RIGHT HAND OF BLESSING.  2 Samuel 20:9--'And Joab said to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with THE RIGHT HAND to BLESS him.'

The RIGHT HAND also conveys AUTHORITY, POWER and STRENGTH.  Other scriptures DEFINE this idea.

Psalm 20:6--“Now know I that the Lord SAVES His anointed; He will HEAR him from His holy heaven with the SAVING STRENGTH of His RIGHT HAND."

The Psalmist knew how God SAVED him--think of David, and his sin with Bathsheba, of his conspiring to have Bathsheba’s husband killed in battle.  David cried out in repentance, begging for God’s forgiveness, and God SAVED David with the STRENGTH of His RIGHT HAND.  In SAVING David, God also gave him a BLESSING with that same RIGHT HAND!

Psalm 80:17--“Let Your hand be upon the man of Your RIGHT HAND, upon the Son of Man Whom You made STRONG for Yourself.”

This is speaking of God anointing Jesus with His RIGHT HAND, giving the Son of Man, Jesus, a BLESSING, and infusing Jesus with the very STRENGTH of God Himself.  When Jesus walked on the earth as the Son of Man, He indeed displayed God’s STRENGTH.

Psalm 98:1--“O sing to the Lord a new song; for He hath done marvelous things:  His RIGHT HAND and His holy arm, has GOTTEN Him the VICTORY."

In doing marvelous things, the Lord gained THE VICTORY with His RIGHT HAND, which shows AWESOME STRENGTH and POWER.

Psalm 110:1-5--“The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit You at My RIGHT HAND, until I make Your ENEMIES Your footstool…The Lord at Thy RIGHT HAND shall strike through kings in THE DAY OF HIS WRATH."

This verse from the Psalms is a PROPHECY which dovetails with PROPHECY in the book of Revelation.  In this portion of the Psalms, God is telling Jesus to come sit at His RIGHT HAND. When Jesus ascended to His Father in heaven after His crucifixion and resurrection, He INDEED sat down on a Throne at God’s RIGHT HAND.  From there, Jesus RULES with His POWER and AUTHORITY over the affairs of His CHURCH.

AND there is coming THAT TIME when JUDGMENT will STRIKE the kings of the earth in THE DAY OF GOD’S WRATH (THAT TIME of THE TRIBULATION)--which shall come upon the whole world, to TRY, TEST and JUDGE all them who DWELL upon the earth.  It will come with the POWER of AUTHORITY within Jesus' RIGHT HAND.

We have allowed the Bible to DEFINE itself.  In doing so, we can see Jesus’ RIGHT HAND in the correct perspective.

Jesus brings BLESSING to His people with His RIGHT HAND.  Jesus brings SALVATION (a SAVING) to His people with His RIGHT HAND of STRENGTH.  And with His RIGHT HAND, Jesus RULES with AUTHORITY and POWER over the affairs of HIS CHURCH.

And finally, in the TIME OF GOD'S WRATH upon the world in THE TRIBULATION, Jesus will SHOW FORTH the POWER and AUTHORITY as He JUDGES the ENEMIES with His RIGHT HAND of STRENGTH.

All these ideas are covered in the view of His tender (and mighty) RIGHT HAND.

Where do you stand in relation to Jesus' RIGHT HAND?

Will you know blessing and saving strength as He protects and forgives His people?

Or will you suffer under His powerful RIGHT HAND of JUDGMENT in the wrath which APPROACHES?  (EVEN NOW, we can BEGIN to hear the distant drumming--rapid hoofbeats of FOUR HORRIFYING HORSES--with their riders of the apocalypse.)

Jesus PROVIDES the WAY--turn to Him and know His tender RIGHT HAND of BLESSING and SAVING STRENGTH.  The CHOICE always remains up to us!

I choose Jesus.  I choose LIFE.  I choose His BLESSING.  How about you?

Do you feel Him, with His tender RIGHT HAND caressing your brow?  If so, thank Him wholeheartedly for being your Savior and Lord, the Bridegroom Who soon comes to take you to His Father's house, just like He promised (John 14:1 to 3)--BEFORE the wrath that will JUDGE the world.

Even so, come Lord Jesus!
